Hello and welcome to day 14 of the recipe advent! Today we’re making these little chocolate peppermint trees. I love chocolate peppermint and will not stand for any peppermint slander - it doesn’t taste like toothpaste; it tastes like a cocoa-y, minty delight! Having said that, if peppermint isn’t for you, just leave it out, and you’ll have a biscuit that isn’t a million miles away from an Oreo - and what’s not to like about Oreos!?
I opted to dip some of mine in chocolate. This is a bit more effort, but it really helps with the shelf life of these biscuits. Undipped, they stay crisp for about 5 days, but dipped, they’ll stay fresh for 3 weeks, so if shelf life is a concern, I’d highly recommend taking the extra time to add the chocolate coating.
