Hello and welcome to day 3 of our recipe advent calendar! Not only is it day 3 of the calendar, but it’s also my 100th post here on Substack. I feel a bit emotional, and honestly, I’m a little mad that my 100th post didn’t fall at a better time so I could make a huge song and dance about it.
I started this newsletter almost exactly a year ago. I’m not entirely sure what my intention was at the time - I think it was just to write down everything I’d ever learnt about cake. After all, what’s the point of keeping it all in my brain when it could be shared with the world? But it’s turned into so much more than just writing what I already knew.
Every week, as I recipe test, research, and write, I learn more, connect with people from all over the world, and generally have a very fun and lovely time!
